Leeteuk opted to be in the active duty service despite that he sustained a herniated disc in a car accident in 2007.
With his enlistment, Leeteuk will be leaving his TV shows "Strong Heart" and "Star King" in Korea. He recently finished the reality TV show "We Got Married" where he was paired with actress Kang Sora.
Super Junior recently performed at the SMTown Live World Tour III held last Sept. 22 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Super Junior along with fellow SM Entertainment artists Girls Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO, Kangta, TVXQ and BoA performed at the concert attended by an estimated 50,000 fans.
With his military service, Leeteuk will be absent in the next SMTown tours in Singapore on Nov. 23 and Thailand on Nov. 25.
Leeteuk will be the third member of Super Junior to enlist in the military.
In 2010, Kangin was the first to start his military conscription following his hiatus from Super Junior in 2009 after he got involved in controversies. He was discharged from the army in April this year.
He was followed by Heechul who enlisted last year and is now a public service personnel owing to his injury. He will be discharged from the army next year.
