Ex-KARA members start solo careers

By JONATHAN HICAP, Manila Bulletin
Jiyoung and Nicole, who both left the group KARA early this year, have started solo careers in Japan and Korea, respectively.
Jiyoung signed with Sweet Power agency in Japan last August to launch a career as actress. She has already appeared in the live action TV program “Hell Teacher Nube,” which is based on the manga series of the same title.

The singer turned actress, who is now going by the stage name Tomohide, is slated to appear in “Higanbana,” which will air on Oct. 24 on the Nippon Television Network.
It was also reported that she has been cast in the Japanese film “Assassination Classroom” to be released in March next year.
Nicole, on the other hand, has signed up with B2M Entertainment to start a solo singing career in Korea.
She is currently busy working on her first album with producer Sweetune. It is slated for release this November.
Prior, Nicole teamed up with actor Jung Il Woo to record “Rain Tears Instead,” which was used as theme song for the Korean drama “The Night Watchman’s Journal.”
