Sequel to ‘Full House’ set

Manila Bulletin

MANILA, Philippines - “Full House,” the 2004 hit comedy series shown on Korean TV station KBS that helped boost the popularity of Asian pop star Rain and actress Song Hye Kyo, will have a sequel but with a different cast.

Early this year, talks about the production of “Full House 2” surfaced although no concrete plans emerged until now.
Korean media said actor No Min Woo was offered in “Full House 2."
“There is nothing definite yet but the offer is under consideration,” according to Core Contents Media, No’s agency.
The filming of the comedy series will start next month, according to Korean news site
“Full House” became a phenomenal success when it aired in Korea and when it was subsequently exported to other countries including the Philippines.
The series became a ratings success when it was shown in the Philippines in 2005, garnering an average daily rating of 42.3 percent. It peaked to 50.5 percent on the April 17, 2005 episode.
In 2009, Philippine TV station GMA Network made an adaptation of “Full House” that starred Richard Gutierrez and Heart Evangelista.
The original series made Rain and Song Hye Kyo very popular in many countries and helped the spread of hallyu, or the Korean wave.
Before “Full House,” Song starred in dramas such as “Autumn in My Heart,” “Hotelier,” “Sweet Bride” and “First Love."
After finishing the series, Rain also starred in the dramas “A Love to Kill” in 2005 and “Fugitive: Plan B” last year. He’s also become one of the most popular Korean singers in Asia.
On the other hand, No Min Woo started as a singer of The Trax under SM Entertainment in 2004 but left the band in 2006.
He branched out into acting, starting in “A Frozen Flower” in 2008. His other dramas include “Pasta” and “My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox” last year and “Midas” this year.
