Korean actress found dead in apparent suicide

MANILA, Philippines - A Korean actress who became popular in the 1990s was found dead in her home, which authorities said was an apparent suicide.

The Korean police identified the victim as 38-year-old actress Kim Soo Jin, who debuted in the Korean entertainment industry in 1994.



Big Bang, 2PM, TVXQ Nominated In MTV VMAJ 2013

MANILA, Philippines - Korean boy bands 2PM, Big Bang and TVXQ have received nominations in the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards Japan (VMAJ).
MTV Japan announced the nominees, the hosts and the first three performers of the awards ceremony, which will be held on June 22 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture, Japan.

MANILA, Philippines - The concert of Korean boy band MBLAQ slated on March 31 was canceled "due to unresolved technical and production concerns."
The announcement was made just hours before the concert was to be held and when many fans were already at the concert venue.

Ex-Super Junior's Hangeng Wins KCA Favorite Asian Act

MANILA, Philippines - Chinese star Hangeng, former member of K-pop boy band Super Junior, won the Favorite Asian Act award at Nickelodeon's 26th Kids' Choice Awards.

Fans chose Hangeng over Korean rapper Psy, the Philippines' Sarah Geronimo and Malaysia's Shila Amzah for the award.

2PM's Comeback Countdown Set

MANILA, Philippines - When K-pop boy band 2PM arrived in Manila last March 1, they revealed that their new Korean album will be released soon.

JYP Entertainment, 2PM's agency, has announced 2PM's comeback after two years since the release of the group's last Korean album "Hands Up" in 2011.

TV Host Probed For Illegal Gambling

MANILA, Philippines - A TV host is under investigation by Korean authorities for illegal sports gambling.

Kim Yong Man, 46, who emcees five TV programs, appeared before authorities this week to answer the charges.
