I have been a fan of everything Korean--from food, music, dramas to culture--for years.
I first became aware of K-pop when I watched an episode of "Star King" in 2007 that featured Charice Pempengco and Kyuhyun of Super Junior doing a duet.
I got curious about Super Junior so I started watching their variety shows and mini dramas. I also started watching other Korean shows, dramas and movies. The rest is history.
South Korea is a fascinating country. My first visit to Korea was in 2009 and the trip opened a whole new world for me.
In 2009, I was hired by the Korea Times newspaper as its first news correspondent in the Philippines. My stint at Korea Times was memorable.
Most of the entries here are my articles published in the Manila Bulletin, a major broadsheet in the Philippines founded in 1900.
In 2009, Manila Bulletin became the first media outlet in the Philippines to publish K-pop and hallyu articles on a regular basis. Up to this day, Manila Bulletin is the only newspaper (and media outlet) in the Philippines that publishes regularly news articles on hallyu.
I hope that through this blog, we can all share our experiences.
