Actor-singer found guilty of assaulting, tracking wife

A court found Korean actor and singer Ryu Si Won guilty of assaulting and electronically tracking his wife and ordered him to pay 7 million won (about P282,000) in fine.

K-pop Republic leaves fans wanting more

As early as 8 a.m. last Sept. 7, many Filipino fans were already at Araneta Center in Quezon City for the K-pop Republic concert, one of the most anticipated K-pop events of the year.
One of the them was 13-year-old Erica Ocampo, who came from Malolos, Bulacan.

Winners at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2013

A drama series from Israel won the grand prize while Hollywood actress Lucy Liu won as best actress in the Seoul International Drama Awards 2013 held on Sept. 6 at the National Theater of Korea.
“Prisoners of War 2,” which became the top rated drama in Israel, bagged the top prize selected among all the nominees for TV movie, mini-series, serial and series categories.

Korea's 'Rooftop Prince,' EXO, SHINee, SNSD top Google searches in the Philippines

The Korean drama "Rooftop Prince" became the most searched TV show in the Philippines for the first half of 2013, according to Google Philippines, which released its Google Zeitgeist list for January to June 2013. It is a list that showed what Filipinos searched online on Google.

2013 Hallyu Forum to focus on film, cooperation between Korea, Philippines

The film industries in South Korea and the Philippines and the cooperation between the two countries will be the main topics at this year’s Hallyu Forum, which will be held on Sept. 17 at Pandanggo Hall of the historic Manila Hotel.
Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) will be holding the Hallyu (or the Korean Wave) Forum as the launch pad for the 2013 Korean Film Festival in the country.
