Korea to provide US$5M worth of humanitarian aid to 'Yolanda' victims

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea extends its deepest sympathies and support to the victims and bereaved families affected by Typhoon Haiyan (“Yolanda”), which struck the Philippines last November 8, 2013.


The Korean Government,through its Embassy in the Philippines, will be providing humanitarian aid to the affected provinces. In coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, humanitarian aid worth five million dollars (US$5,000,000)will be given by the Republic of Korea to help in the relief and rehabilitation operations.  

This contribution, coming from the heart of every Korean, is a sincere expression of friendship and camaraderie to the Philippines.

In line with thisendeavor, the Korean Government wishes to dispatch a Disaster Relief Team onboard C-130 aircrafts.

The Korean Embassy expresses its heartfelt condolences to thefamilies and victims of the typhoon, and hopes that their resiliency andindomitable spirit will help them cope with and overcome this human tragedy.
