He started working as a radio program DJ in January last year.
Heechul enlisted in the army on Sept. 1, 2011 and after four weeks
of basic military training, he reported to the Seongdong office.
He served as a public service worker due to his physical
condition. In 2006, Heechul was involved in a car accident that fractured his
leg. For this, he underwent major surgery and physical therapy.
The singer and actor served for 23 months at the Seongdong
District Office.
Fans and the media waited for Heechul to emerge from the district
office. After receiving his award, Heechul greeted the fans who were waiting
outside the building and proudly showed his certificate of commendation.
It was reported that there are offers for Heechul to appear in
variety shows and Korean dramas. These offers will be reviewed and a decision
will be made later on.
With his discharge from the army, fans are hoping to see Heechul perform in Super Junior's "Super Show 5" world tour.

Heechul was the second member of Super Junior after Kangin to
enlist in the military. In October last year, Super Junior's leader Leeteuk
started serving in the army.
