MANILA, Philippines - The leader of K-pop quintet Wonder Girls is going to tie the knot in January next year.
Sunye is getting married to her Korean-Canadian boyfriend who she met in Haiti last year during a missionary work.

The announcement came as a shock and surprise to her fans, who didn't expect the news.
The marriage was confirmed by the Wonder Girls' agency, JYP Entertainment.
In an email to Korean entertainment site Allkpop.com, the agency said Sunye "will be getting married on January 26th of next year."
JYPE said Sunye informed the agency and other members of the Wonder Girls about her decision recently and "we have decided to respect her decision."
"Sun will be focusing on her marriage and family life for the time being, and the other members of Wonder Girls will be concentrating on individual activities such as acting, producing, solo albums, and broadcast activities," the agency said.
This means that the Wonder Girls as a group will be on hiatus for a while after Sunye's marriage.
The news came two months after Sunye denied a magazine report that she was planning to get married to her boyfriend last month.
She promised then that she would reveal if there was news about her marriage.
Sunye appeared to have hinted on Twitter about her impending marriage two weeks ago.
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another," she posted on Nov. 12.
On the Wonder Girls' official fan cafe, Sunye said she's nervous about her marriage.
“I’m not the type to get nervous on stage.. But right at this moment.. Honestly I’m a little nervous," said Sunye, according to Allkpop.com.
“Although I can’t always see you, as people who are close to me and I am truly thankful for, I would rather tell you myself than have you all hear this from other people. January 26, 2013 will be a very special day to me. I will be getting married, making two people one and beginning to walk the path of life together,” she wrote.
It was not immediately known where the couple would be residing after the marriage. In a TV interview last July, Sunye said it was possible that she could end up living with her boyfriend in Haiti in the event that they get married.
