Wonder Girls' Sunye Denies Getting Married Next Month

MANILA, Philippines - Wonder Girls leader Sunye denied a report in a Korean women’s magazine that she's getting married next month to her non-showbiz boyfriend.

Sunye shot down the report via a Twitter message. “I’m informing you guys again that my next month marriage news revealed by a misreport is false. I know very well that many people are blessing my open relationship with kind words," Sunye said, according to Allkpop.com.

She added, "As I said when I first revealed my relationship, with things in my life that I feel I should share with you guys, I will certainly share them when I feel that the timing is right. Thank you for supporting me! Have a peaceful night."

Sunye met her boyfriend, a Korean-Canadian missionary, in Haiti in May where both of them participated in missionary work.

According to Korean media, Sunye's uncle was quoted by the women's magazine as saying that Sunye and her boyfriend were planning to get married.

JYP Entertainment, Wonder Girls' agency, also denied the rumor.

Sunye revealed on a Korean TV show last November that she already had a boyfriend. Since then, photos of the two together were published.

“We are in a happy relationship. He is giving me help not only in music but in life overall. I’ve said this before on a broadcast but it is a different concept from dating when you are in your teens. This is such a happy event in my life, and also a thankful one at that,” said Sunye in June this year, according to Soompi.com.

Sunye added, “Although one might think that it is a bit early, I think this is the right time. That is why I mustered up the courage to confess that I was in a relationship. Thank you so much. My boyfriend is in Haiti but WIFI doesn’t work that well there. That is why we are having a difficult long distance relationship. (Laugh) We still use e-mail to keep in touch.”

In a TV interview last July, she revealed that it was possible that she could end up living with her boyfriend in Haiti in the event that they get married.
