Korean rapper Psy was awarded the Viral Video of the Year for his global hit "Gangnam Style" at the MuchMusic Video Awards 2013 held in Toronto, Canada on June 16 (June 17 in Manila).
Psy, who co-hosted the awards, opened the show with "Gangnam Style" and closed it with "Gentleman."
"Gangnam Style," which was released in July last year, brought Psy international fame and fortune, and put him in a position to set world records. The song has 1.65 billion views to date.
On the other hand, "Gentleman" has accumulated 426 million views on YouTube since it was uploaded last April 13.
Sadly, Psy announced that his "Gentleman" performance at the MuchMusic Video Awards was his last for the song.
Posting on Twitter on June 17, Psy said, "It's gonna be the official final performance of #Gentleman on TV. I can't say I've been the best BUT I CAN say I've done my BEST!"
Before going to Canada, Psy performed at the Capital FM Summertime Ball 2013 at Wembley Stadium in London.
