Winners at the 2nd Gaon Chart K-pop Awards

MANILA, Philippines - The 2nd Gaon Chart K-pop Awards ceremony was held on Feb. 13 at the Olympic Hall at Seoul Olympic Park in Seoul, South Korea.

The ceremony, organized by Korea's Gaon Chart and hosted by Brown Eyed Girls' Ga In and Joo Young Hoon, awarded top K-pop artists based on music sales charts in 2012.
For the Albums of the Year, the winners are Big Bang's "Alive" for the first quarter, Girls' Generation subunit TaeTiSeo's "Twinkle" for the second quarter, Super Junior's "Sexy, Free & Single" for the third quarter and TVXQ's "Catch Me" in the fourth quarter.
The digital Songs of the Year were awarded by month. These are: January – T-ara's “Lovey Dovey,” February – Big Bang's “Blue,” March – Big Bang's “Fantastic Baby,” April – Busker Busker's “Cherry Blossom Ending,” May – TaeTiSeo's “Twinkle,” June – Wonder Girls' “Like This,” July – 2NE1's “I Love You,” August – Psy's “Gangnam Style,” September – Seo In Guk & A Pink member Eunji's “All For You,” October – Ga In's “Bloom,” November – Lee Hi's  “1,2,3,4” and December – Lee Seung G's “Return.”
Maroon 5's “Payphone“ was adjudged as the International Song of the Year. Maroon 5 also won the award last year for "Moves Like Jagger."
New Artists of the Year were also recognized. B.A.P won the male group, Hello Venus as female group, John Park won in the male solo category and Ailee won in the female solo category.
Boy band CN Blue won the Hallyu Special Award
In the Discovery of the Year awards, Double K won the Hip Hop Award, Girl group A Pink bagged the Hot Trend Award and 3rd Line Butterfly won the Indie Band Award.
Yang Hyun Suk of YG Entertainment was recognized with the Best Producer Award. Hong Seung-sung of Cube Entertainment won the K-pop Contribution of the Year.
For music distribution, the awardees are Loen Entertainment for online and KMP Holdings for offline.
Teddy Park won as best composer and Kim Min Ah took home the lyricist award. Jeon Hoon won the sound engineer of the year.
The Performers of the Year are Kim Hyo-soo for backup vocal and Shin Hyun-kwon for instrumental.
For Style of the Year, Lee Ju Seon won in choreography and Sung Jung Ok won as stylist.
