Korean boy band Block B visited Manila for the second time last Feb. 1, and they were profuse in thanking Filipino fans for the support they have afforded them.
In a press conference held the same day at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, band member Jaehyo shared, “We saw a lot of fans waiting at the airport. Filipino fans are very passionate and loving.”

Block B first visited the country in August 2011 for a cultural concert organized by the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC).
The recent visit coincided with the Feb. 2 staging of the “Dream K-pop Fantasy Concert 2″ at the Smart Araneta.
Apart from Jaehyo, the seven-member boy band also included Zico, Taeil, B-Bomb, U-Kwon, P.O and Kyung.
Asked what sets Block B apart from other boy bands, leader Zico said “Each of the members has different characteristics. And they are all very appealing. And they try to enjoy every performance they have and communicate with the fans on stage.”
When not working, Kyung related that they usually “watch movies together or relax.”
Taeil on the other hand, shared how they “haven’t traveled to many countries.”
He added, “We are excited to meet fans in different countries.”
As parting message to their Filipino fans, Kyung said, “Mahal kita.”
Block B made their comeback last October with the new album “Very Good.”
The single of the same title, won for the group their first music TV award on “Inkigayo” last October.
Zico said that the song is now their favorite as a group. “Because of the song, we took first place for the first time,” he explained.
Block B debuted in the K-pop scene in 2011 with the album “Do You Wanna B?”Link to my original article on Manila Bulletin online:
