EXO, U-KISS, Sarah Geronimo bag MTV EMA nominations

MTV announced the nominees in the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards and among them are Korean singers EXO and U-KISS and the Philippines' Sarah Geronimo.

This year, MTV EMA listed nominees under the Worldwide Act category by territory.

For the Best Korea Act, the nominees are boy bands EXO, U-KISS, B.A.P and Boyfriend, and girl group SISTAR.  (To vote for the Best Korea Act, go to link).

Sarah Geronimo is the lone entry from the Philippines in the Best Southeast Asia Act. Other nominees are Hafiz from Malaysia, Noah from Indonesia, Olivia Ong from Singapore, Slot Machine from Thailand and My Tam from Vietnam.

Nominees for the Best Japan Act are Exile, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, MIYAVI, Momoiro Clover Z and ONE OK ROCK. (To vote for the Best Southeast Asia Act, go to link). 

Chris Lee, Eason Chan, Jane Zhang, Khalil Fong and Sun Nan bagged nominations for the Best Mainland China & Hong Kong Act.

Vanness Wu, who rose to fame via the 2001 Taiwanese drama "Meteor Garden," is nominated for the Best Taiwan Act along with Jam Hsiao, JJ Lin, Rainie Yang and Show Lo.

According to MTV, the online voting for the nominated artists under the Worldwide Act started on Sept. 17.

The winners from respective territories will receive an MTV EMA award and move on to the next phase of the voting starting on Oct. 25 and compete for the regional title.

The 10 official Worldwide Act nominees from each region will be announced on Nov. 1 and the battle for the Worldwide Act Award begins. The winner will be named during the 2013 MTV EMA show on Nov. 11 in Amsterdam.

Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis led the MTV EMA nominees with five nods each. Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke each bagged four nominations.
