Singer, songwriter and producer Park
Jin-young, 40, announced on Twitter on Sept. 16 that he will be tying the knot
with his fiancee who is nine years younger than him.
“Hello. I wanted to let you all know
firsthand, so I’m writing this up. There was one person who made me write the
song, ‘It’s Only You.’ She is 9 years younger than me and living a normal life
and we had good feelings starting from the first time we saw each other, but as
she wanted to continue living a normal life, there were some conflicts,” wrote
Park Jin-young, according to ENewsWorld.
He said after they talked, she accepted
his marriage proposal and they will be walking down the aisle on Oct. 10.
“However, after a long time with a lot
of talking, we gained the faith that we needed each other and she finally
accepted my proposal. We decided to get married in October,” he added.
While he is a celebrity, Park Jin-young
said he wants his future wife to live normally so the wedding will be private
with only family members in attendance.
“I am celebrity and I will have to
continue living while communicating with everyone, but I want to let her live
the normal life that she is right now. (Reporters, please help~ bow). So the
wedding will be private and quiet with just family members, so please be
understanding,” he appealed.
He added, “Thank you for always giving
me strength. As promised, let’s all get old together.”
This will be Park Jin-young’s second
marriage.
In 1999, he married Seo Yoon Jung.
After living together for 10 years, Park Jin-young announced online in 2009
that he would be divorcing his wife because they already drifted apart.
“I spent the past 16 years with my
first love that I met when I was 20. We shared the most precious years and the
most beautiful moments together, and loved each other passionately. But we
started drifting apart a few years ago,” he said, according to the Korea Times.
The divorce proceedings turned ugly
when authorities seized Park Jin-young’s properties in 2010. This after the two
failed to reach an agreement on the division of assets that resulted in the
case being brought to court.
Park Jin-young and Seo Yoon Jung
officially divorced in April 2010. They have no children.
